Communial Bathroom Solution
So we have one hall bathroom and 4 little ones to share it (along with any friendly guests we have over). We have already noticed a few problems with this setup since we have moved in and they are not even teenagers yet. The room is divided into 2 smaller rooms - the back room has the toilet and tub/shower and the front room has the sink and vanity. On school days, we are noticing a lot of locking and screaming going on waiting for turns, etc. So we came up with a simple solution that so far everyone likes. I put up an old curtain that was left here when we moved in for a door in between the two rooms (it is tied back to one side when it is not being used like the picture above.) This way the person showering or going to the bathroom can close the curtain, while the other person can still brush their hair, teeth, or admire themselves in the other room. We have noticed they also love treating the back room like a fitting room now and usually get dressed in there. The best news is when they run in to go to the bathroom and forget to shut the real door, they remember to pull the curtain and we don't see them as we walk down the hallway anymore (it is a straight shot down the hall to the bathroom)! Yeah, for fun and easy solutions until the 3rd bathroom gets installed downstairs and for children who seem to cooperate a little more in the meantime :)
