Week in review

-
  • Had some kind of horrible virus go through the kids (sneezing, coughs, running noses)
  • Mom got a different strain of the virus which included body aches, low fever, sore throat and hives
  • Planned, prepared and had a garage sale with some friends (4 mommys and 11 kiddos, and one helpful grandma Sue)
  • Skipped running two times since Caleb missed preschool those days because of his cough (and I was finally almost able to run the entire first 1/2 mile before that break!)
  • Finished working on the hall bathroom walls and are looking forward to painting them this week
  • Worked on some landscaping and cleared out some trees that were not supposed to be trees I think
  • Prepped the exterior for our house inspection to get our free paint
  • Spent time with Grandma Peggy for a day while mommy got a little R&R (the bad day of the virus)
  • Watched all 3 X-Men movies and watched the new one that came out on DVD with the boys

Up this week - catching up from being sick, packing the kids up to stay at Grandma's this weekend while we enjoy our 3 day couple vacation to Minnesota, paint the hall bathroom, finish up some yard work projects before we start painting the exterior....

Merry Christmas from our crew to yours! We are thankful for 2024 and all that it brought to our family. God has been gracious and merciful to us as we hope to glorify Him with our lives and figure out our next season of life. We had more ups than downs this year and are excited to see what unfolds in 2025. John and Deanna celebrated 26 years of marriage this year and were able to celebrate with an anniversary trip through four National Parks in CA and NV. It was an amazing trip and of course urges us to travel more this coming year while we are healthy enough to hike and have more time on our hands in this short season. The peer pressure of the internet

So I have been invited about 5 times to join Facebook this past year and it seems lately most of my adult friends are joining. I have been afraid to join, not because of the crazy psychos out there, but because I know the time I would lose once I joined. I keep going back and forth and am driving John crazy using his account all the time to email friends I haven't talked to for awhile. He keeps telling me to get my own account. He joined last year because his youth Sunday School Class was all on there and it was better for them to discuss and email through Facebook . He is just now using it to re-connect with other people or talk back and forth with KC friends here (he no longer teaches the youth at church). When my friend Sara joined she said her inbox was full of friend requests and how crazy it was to get requests from people she never really talked to back in high school. Is it rude to just decline those people or is the "cool" thing to just have a bunch of friend...
