A wonderful Mother's Day

The kids and John spoiled me with wonderful gifts yesterday. We began the day with a great message at church and then went to my mother-in-laws for lunch. My mom and her boyfriend were there too. We ate lunch, opened gifts, and hung out. My mother-in-law got me a fun plant and my mom got me a wind chime. I was so excited for them to get their gifts from us. We finally got them each a digital photo frame filled with 2GB of fun family pictures! The rest of the day consisted of a short nap, some yard work, and the season finale of Amazing Race together.

I think the homemade gifts are my favorite Mother's Day gifts. Joshua made me a fun flower planter in Sunday School and a butterfly magnet in school. Caleb also made a flower pot in school and worked very hard on a homemade card. Ashlyn and Joshua made a book of Hanson poems about various things I like. Ashlyn also made a nice homemade card and a tissue flower in a vase. Jonathan wrapped most of the gifts and gave me a special hug. He made sure to tell me over and over that he helped pick the candle and neck pillow too. They did a really good job on everything. Here are a couple pictures of the homemade stuff...

The inside of Caleb's card. He did it all by himself, which is a huge accomplishment for him. Journaling and handwriting are his least favorite subjects in school.
