School Room is a Go!
We finished up organizing our school room/playroom this past week and it feels refreshing to be going into the school year unstressed. We purged a lot of unused books and toys for our garage sale and it seems to have really helped the room's functionality. Here is our supply closet where we keep all of our Tues/Thurs supplies for homeschooling. We keep these doors locked when we have little visitors over :)
We bought Caleb and Jonathan desks this year off Craigslist. Caleb will be starting Kindergarten and I plan on teaching Jonathan a few preschool things on Tues/Thurs while the others kids are working on stuff.
We took down last year's posters/resources and got all their supplies, backpacks, curriculum books, etc last week.
We even cleaned out our art/game area for the new year. We purged old puzzles and games from our game closet and packed away last year's art projects....we are ready for the new ones.
Here is the playroom side of the room. We cleared a corner of the room for our new firehouse we built (pics coming soon) - a big horse is holding the spot. We also organized our art stuff, train table, and 2 toy bins so things are easier to grab. It's amazing how many toys are gone now - the Wii and Netflix are more entertaining these days. We also got rid of all our baby toys, which was actually a trash bag full. With birthdays and Christmas around the corner, I feel prepared already!
You can see the frog's new home here - he is in the dresser by the lego bucket. He really likes this room the best I think :) My next project when this firehouse is all done tonight - organizing speech homework! I plan on making up some lessons for Caleb for the fall (oh, and maybe Jonathan too - he has a lisp that needs some attention). I also plan to re-design our family website to make room for my little business venture site. I'll keep you posted on those projects soon...
