Caleb's school is having their Halloween party this afternoon. The kindergartner's get to have a parade through the school halls while the other grades line up....Caleb is excited for this I think. Halloween parades are some of my earliest memories of elementary school (John too). Next week they have a short week of school because of Parent Teacher conferences, so they are celebrating early. Here are a couple of pictures from this morning...

Our 2024 Christmas Update

Merry Christmas from our crew to yours! We are thankful for 2024 and all that it brought to our family. God has been gracious and merciful to us as we hope to glorify Him with our lives and figure out our next season of life. We had more ups than downs this year and are excited to see what unfolds in 2025. John and Deanna celebrated 26 years of marriage this year and were able to celebrate with an anniversary trip through four National Parks in CA and NV. It was an amazing trip and of course urges us to travel more this coming year while we are healthy enough to hike and have more time on our hands in this short season. Other family highlights of 2024 included seeing the Total Eclipse, watching the Chiefs win another Superbowl, and spending time together all six of us at home or on vacations together a few times this year.  John spent the last year continuing to volunteer with Partners Worldwide, his business mentor group, and our church, Bethel Baptist Church. Prequels: hard to understand at 4

a paraphrase of our conversation yesterday: Joshua: Can we get Little Mermaid 3 from the library today? Mom: Oh, Joshua, that isn't available at the library yet because it is so new. Remember we got that one from the Red Box when it came out a couple weeks ago. Joshua: Not the Ariel's Beginning one - the one with Melody. Mom: Oh, do you mean the Little Mermaid 2 where Ariel has a daughter. Joshua: No, that is the Little Mermaid 3 because it comes last. Ashlyn : No, Joshua. Ariel's Beginning comes before Little Mermaid 1, but it is NOT Little Mermaid 1. Joshua: No, no, no. Listen. We own Little Mermaid 2 and I want to see Little Mermaid 3. We already saw 1 a little while ago. Mom: Honey, we can go see if the library has Little Mermaid 2 today. But there really is no Little Mermaid 3.
