Monday Highlights

-
  • Monday morning bible study ended for summer break (we did two Beth Moore studies and I really enjoyed both of them with my mother-in-law)
  • The new Durango didn't pass our MO safety inspection and will be ready tomorrow for pick up and licensing (needed spark plugs, rotor, and brake stuff - it was still a great deal I think even after the repairs and I can't wait to get it back)
  • We enrolled Joshua into a preschool close to our house - Northern Hills Christian Academy (he'll go Mon, Wed, and Friday for 3 hours a day starting in August)
  • Jonathan learned to sit up from a laying down position (this child is lazy - he was still crying on his back in his crib in the morning, he can finally sit up and play awhile! He even will go from laying down, to sitting to standing now in like 5 seconds)
  • The Maids didn't come today :( like they normally do on Mondays, but they will come on Wed instead
  • I got babysitting planned for most of tomorrow for me to go get my hair permed and hang out with my best friend! Very excited for some grown up girl time
  • The boys played outside with dad most of the evening while the girls did some school time tonight in preparation for the alone time tomorrow
  • We agreed to take home a frog from Ashlyn's class (they began as tadpoles and the kids watched them grow - Ashlyn REALLY wanted to take one of the 4 that lived home, so I gave in. She will keep it on her dresser in her room for now)

Oh, my! A frog, huh? Are you keeping it for the summer or forever? Aaron has been a bit of a lazy baby, too. He's 15 mos. and just starting to walk. They eventually get around to doing it all though. Just think of all the stuff he isn't getting into just yet since he doesn't move around too much. But then again, having to carry them for longer than we have to isn't very much fun either! Have a good time with your friend tomorrow - we can all use some grown up girl time now and then!!

Merry Christmas from our crew to yours! We are thankful for 2024 and all that it brought to our family. God has been gracious and merciful to us as we hope to glorify Him with our lives and figure out our next season of life. We had more ups than downs this year and are excited to see what unfolds in 2025. John and Deanna celebrated 26 years of marriage this year and were able to celebrate with an anniversary trip through four National Parks in CA and NV. It was an amazing trip and of course urges us to travel more this coming year while we are healthy enough to hike and have more time on our hands in this short season. 2025 Annual Christmas Update

  Merry Christmas from our crew to yours! We are grateful for 2025 and ways the Lord grew each of us this year. God has been gracious and merciful to us this year like years before. John and Deanna celebrated 27 years of marriage this year and thought 2025 would be the year we would become empty nesters, but God had other plans. We are happy to report we have two adult children living with us as we begin next year and are thankful for more memories with them in our home, including dinner a few times a week. Also, Jonathan adopted a black lab/pointer puppy this fall and we've all enjoyed the playfulness and snuggles that come with her each day in our home. This is Bailey. Bear is still in denial that she is living here. 2025 highlight: Our crew was able to all be together in KC for Jonathan's high school graduation in May! The Crazy Internet

So I am a huge fan of computers and the internet , enough that I got a computer science degree in it, and love to learn new things technology offer. I was doing a website long before blogs became real popular for our family. I would type little paragraphs about what our family was doing that week in html and update the site weekly. When my friend Anna told me about blogging, I was so glad to do that same stuff in about 5 minutes...and then this blog became a reality. So since then, I have learned about so many of my friends' blogs. It is just about the only non-child hobby I have. I have routinely began checking them as they are updated. I really enjoy them so I had listed them on my blog for others to check out. Well, to my amazement, many of my friends (4 already!) have had to delete their blogs or make them private because of some crazy comments/visitors, etc. I don't feel I am ready to make ours private quite yet because we have so many family and friends checking it in 5 o...
