Jonathan is homeschooling!

We decided back in December to pull Jonathan from school and homeschool him. The primary reason was because he had never been to a private school or tried homeschooling before and all of the other 3 kids had. He also wasn't loving school and I had a lot more time since I wasn't working much at The Maids anymore. We are excited to share the teaching responsibilities between both John and I. He is going to take on History, Reading, and Bible. I am tackling Math, Science, English, and PE. We'll keep you posted as the semester progresses.

Merry Christmas from our crew to yours! We are thankful for 2024 and all that it brought to our family. God has been gracious and merciful to us as we hope to glorify Him with our lives and figure out our next season of life. We had more ups than downs this year and are excited to see what unfolds in 2025. John and Deanna celebrated 26 years of marriage this year and were able to celebrate with an anniversary trip through four National Parks in CA and NV. It was an amazing trip and of course urges us to travel more this coming year while we are healthy enough to hike and have more time on our hands in this short season. 2025 Annual Christmas Update

  Merry Christmas from our crew to yours! We are grateful for 2025 and ways the Lord grew each of us this year. God has been gracious and merciful to us this year like years before. John and Deanna celebrated 27 years of marriage this year and thought 2025 would be the year we would become empty nesters, but God had other plans. We are happy to report we have two adult children living with us as we begin next year and are thankful for more memories with them in our home, including dinner a few times a week. Also, Jonathan adopted a black lab/pointer puppy this fall and we've all enjoyed the playfulness and snuggles that come with her each day in our home. This is Bailey. Bear is still in denial that she is living here. 2025 highlight: Our crew was able to all be together in KC for Jonathan's high school graduation in May! The Crazy Internet

So I am a huge fan of computers and the internet , enough that I got a computer science degree in it, and love to learn new things technology offer. I was doing a website long before blogs became real popular for our family. I would type little paragraphs about what our family was doing that week in html and update the site weekly. When my friend Anna told me about blogging, I was so glad to do that same stuff in about 5 minutes...and then this blog became a reality. So since then, I have learned about so many of my friends' blogs. It is just about the only non-child hobby I have. I have routinely began checking them as they are updated. I really enjoy them so I had listed them on my blog for others to check out.
