Quilting with grandma

When Grandma Sue stayed with the kids while we were in Hawaii, they got to learn a new trade. Ashlyn had started a quilt with her probably last year, but hadn't started the sewing part yet. While we gone, they got to finish it together. It was Ashlyn's first time using a sewing machine. I think she really enjoyed it. When they finished that quilt, which was for her American Girl doll Ruthie, Joshua said he wanted to give it a try. So then they went to the fabric store for all the boys. Josh finished his next and then Ashlyn started another one for her. Sue came over the other day to help her finish the backing and floss. They all came out really good. Caleb and Jonathan have their fabric picked out but haven't started yet. I'm so glad we have some crafters in our family who can teach our kids fun things like this. Here are the finished products..
