Branson Bliss

So John and I celebrated our 10th anniversary in Branson this weekend and really enjoyed eachother. I say it this way because it was a great time together, away from our normal routines and business, and the best part of the trip were those moments we could say, "I'm so glad to be here with you." Of course, we had different feelings again about the city and people of Branson itself - it is way to commercialized and way to busy to not feel a little stressed at times...overall, well worth the weekend getaway in this wonderful hotel above (for free thanks to the Wyndham Vacation Resorts people)!
After we checked in on Friday and ate at Landry's Seafood Restaurant, we hung out talking and watching the food network in our room (we don't normally have cable and watch our favorite shows through the library interlibrary loan program). Sat, we ventured on to Silver Dollar City for a few hours and then sat through our timeshare presentation for the free hotel, $80 cash, and 2 day Silver Dollar City tickets! It was long, but not too horrible. We then went to see Hancock at the theatre and had dinner. Early to bed and then another free breakfast on Sunday. We went to some Outlet malls by our hotel and did some shopping....a great anniversary surprise - a new Titanium Wedding band for John and an Anniversary ring for me from Zales...

We went back to Silver Dollar City after that and rode more roller coasters....here is a video of John's favorite, the Wildfire (you have to click on this link to see this thriller ride I survived). Yes, there are 5 upside down loops - a first for me! What a submissive wife will do for her man! Oh, and Jonathan is a new baby since we have been back - no more clinging to mom - it worked!!!

Yeah, I was pretty sick after that one! The rings were a total surprise kinda for both of us and a big ticket item we don't normally spend on - which made it a little more fun. It have an August stone in the middle and 2 diamonds on each side. I love it!

What a wonderful anniversary getaway! How do those timeshare presentations work? I've heard of people doing them, but don't know anything about how WE can do it! I'd love a little vacay! I can't believe you went on that roller coaster. In high school I could do those, but now? I'm not so sure! But at least you can say you did it! And I'm so glad Jonathan is an independent little guy now. That must be so nice for you!

Hmm...what to say about timeshare presentations - you have to be good at saying no because they are pretty pushy and say the sales gimic will take 90 minutes (really 2 1/2 or 3 hours). We got 3 days, 2 nights stay for $109, but got $80of that back after the presentation (so really only cost $29 for lodging) plus we got show tickets (in our case amusement park tickets which cost $92 for 2)...we are all about saving money all of the time and are good at saying no so we have done it twice in Branson....some people would say the stress of the presentation isn't worth it...you should give it a try I think :) We won't be going back to Branson because it is SO busy there, but would consider doing it again somwhere else like CO or off the coast somewhere.
You are crazy going on that roller coaster... Love the rings. How romantic!!
