A little R and R

John went to a Men's Retreat this weekend for church (not sure why that happened on Mother's Day weekend!) so I thought I would share a cute pic of Joshua and him relaxing together. If you can see, Joshua has a cereal stick (a cool invention to try to get your kids to drink more milk through a flavored straw) as a pretend cigar. They sat outside one evening catching up while "smokin" and sharing John's Ipod ear buds listening to a book on tape.

i can not possibly imagine why he needed to rest. It's not like he did anything. He did nothing, not even sleep.

Yeah, so I heard you all didn't do much sleeping after all the four-wheelin and talkin! He is pretty tired tonight, this pic was from last week, he came home and worked on his Sunday School lesson and went to bed :)

Merry Christmas from our crew to yours! We are thankful for 2024 and all that it brought to our family. God has been gracious and merciful to us as we hope to glorify Him with our lives and figure out our next season of life. We had more ups than downs this year and are excited to see what unfolds in 2025. John and Deanna celebrated 26 years of marriage this year and were able to celebrate with an anniversary trip through four National Parks in CA and NV. It was an amazing trip and of course urges us to travel more this coming year while we are healthy enough to hike and have more time on our hands in this short season. The peer pressure of the internet

So I have been invited about 5 times to join Facebook this past year and it seems lately most of my adult friends are joining. I have been afraid to join, not because of the crazy psychos out there, but because I know the time I would lose once I joined. I keep going back and forth and am driving John crazy using his account all the time to email friends I haven't talked to for awhile. He keeps telling me to get my own account. He joined last year because his youth Sunday School Class was all on there and it was better for them to discuss and email through Facebook . He is just now using it to re-connect with other people or talk back and forth with KC friends here (he no longer teaches the youth at church). When my friend Sara joined she said her inbox was full of friend requests and how crazy it was to get requests from people she never really talked to back in high school. Is it rude to just decline those people or is the "cool" thing to just have a bunch of friend...
