Kite Flying

So I gave single parent kite flying a try today...I don't recommend it. We were all so excited to get to the open field on this perfect Spring day, put our kites together and all spend an hour happily flying together. Well, it was more like me trying to put 4 kites together in the wind, while 4 impatient kids fought over who went first + a lot of frustration getting them up, and only one person to help them all....but you really can't tell all that from the pictures...Caleb LOVED it! He mostly enjoyed chasing the kite around while it was in the air and catching it while it fell. Jonathan and Joshua's kite broke right away, which helped because I could balance my time between 2 kids pretty good. We took turns with Caleb's kite and then watched Ashlyn try to keep hers up. The walk after dinner was even a little more stressful alone....more about that some other time...

We are definitely going to buy some nicer kites for Josh and Jonathan before we go next time and will go on a Sat when John is home. But is was worth the try and a beautiful day none the less!

nope - he just works really late on Tues and Thurs and I attempted a busy day of fun alone...I hadn't tried that in awhile. It is hard :) And I kept thinking of bible study the whole time trying to keep patient...
