Dollar Favorites

Friday was a fun garage sale day with Grandma Sue! There was a neighborhood sale we go to every year and we had another successful year of great deals we were hoping to find there. Because Caleb's school had an inservice day, he was able to go too this year. After we bought a trunk full of Birthday and Christmas gifts, we headed over to Sue's friend who is moving out of the state. She offered me a bunch of stuff that she couldn't take on her move for a mission trip fundraiser sale. I was so excited and grateful! We got enough stuff to definitely have a good Friday sale. We are going to do this in 2 weekends at Sue's house and I'm excited to see what kind of funds I can get for the deposit that is due in 3 weeks.

When Ashlyn and Joshua got home from school they said they wanted to go to more garage sales Sat. morning. So after John was done with his TV interview, we decided to go to some more neighborhood ones. Ashlyn and I went alone since the boys decided to have some Marble Works fun, a gift from the same friend above to the kids. They have played with alot in two days. We found so many dollar items today (along with some <$1 ones too) We even found a few free items that we might sell at the mission trip fundraiser garage sale too. Here is what we picked as our favorite thing that was a dollar...

My favorite, a Jack Bauer t-shirt I found at a 24 fan's house. We had great conversation and then I left with an awesome shirt that sells for about $30 online.

Ashlyn found a great magic show box for $1 that came with a cardboard box stand and about 30 magic tricks. She loves magic stuff so it was a great find for a dollar.

While John hung out with his friends at a cigar party tonight, we decided to have a magic show. It lasted about 30 minutes and was a change from the traditional card tricks we see in about 5 minutes. We'll have to record some soon for the blog too. The evening ended with some homemade choc chip cookies and some ABC Bingo.
