Only in America...

.....do drugstores make the sick walk all the way to the back of the store to get their prescriptions while healthy people can buy cigarettes at the front. .....do people order double cheeseburgers, large fries, and a DIET coke .....do banks leave both doors open and then chain the pens to the counters. ......do we leave cars worth thousands of dollars in the driveway and put our useless junk in the garage. ......do we buy hot dogs in packages of ten and buns in packages of eight. ......do they have drive-up ATM machines with Braille lettering?

"Get me out of here!"

I was just telling a friend at dinner Saturday how much I love to determine body parts poking out of me. Then today I got an email with this picture in it and had to post it. Nope, that is not my belly, but I feel like this child wants out just as bad already!

Amazing graze was truly amazing!

We went last night with a few friends to see the movie, Amazing Grace, and just loved it. It is the story of William Wilberforce and his attempt to abolish the slave trade movement in England. The story was incredible and had some funny parts, romantic parts, and of course some sad parts. It was a very clean movie and very moving. I recommend it to anyone who can get to the movies. It was a great date night and was one of those movies where everyone claps when it is over! Plus, in the middle there was a loud "Amen" from the crowd, which I have never seen before. John Piper has a great biography available on his website about William Wilberforce and some of the people in this movie. I recommend that as well at www.desiringgod.org .

Name Game Again

So we are finally down to two first names! We are still not 100% on both of them, but they are the only two on the list right now. The problem we are having is with middle names now. Oh, and picking between the two first names!! We both like these names right now, we just can't decide. Here is our list, let me know what you think... Jonathan James Hanson (never shortened to John or JJ only Jonathan) Jonathan Luke Hanson (only Jonathan) Jonathan Blake Hanson (never shortened to John or JB only Jonathan) Karsten John Hanson Karsten Cole Hanson

My New TV Hero: Humerous facts about Jack Bauer

If Jack Bauer was in a room with Hitler, Stalin, and Nina Meyers, and he had a gun with 2 bullets, he'd shoot Nina twice. If everyone on "24" followed Jack Bauer's instructions, it would be called"12". If you wake up in the morning, it's because Jack Bauer spared your life. Jack Bauer once won a game of Connect 4 in 3 moves. When someone asks him how his day is going, Jack replies, "Previously, on 24..." Jack Bauer could strangle you with a cordless phone. When Google can't find something, it asks Jack Bauer for help. Every mathematical inequality officially ends with "< Jack Bauer". In 96 hours, Jack Bauer has killed 93 people and saved the world 4 times. What have you done with your life?

The basketball has arrived

Since we know it won't be long until the beachball takes over, we thought we would share some photos of my growing belly right before it blows up.... This is the most weight I have gained during my pregnancy so we really think the third trimester is going to be crazy...hoping to continue to blow up only in the belly. I have already seen some changes occurring in the back that are not picture-worthy!

Wanna be like dad...

"I LOVE dressing up like dad! No more girly clothes for me Ashlyn!" "Caleb, I am your father and you will listen!" "Boy, I need to eat some more soon to fill these up."

Big Boy Beds

We found another great deal on craigslist and got the boys bunk beds. It is not very tall, which is very exciting to me. We will have to get a bigger bed when they are older, but this works great while they are so little (They both look so much bigger now). The best news...we have a spot ready for a crib now. Although we still do no have a name yet, we are really almost ready for this guy to come. Pre -term contractions have begun and one hospital visit has been made. We'll keep you posted on how those all continue.

Jim Brickman Grace CD

So I checked out this CD from the library today because I had never heard of this one and really liked it. It is called "Grace" by Jim Brickman and has a lot of hymns I enjoy on it. Three of the songs have lyrics and the others are just instrumental. Thought I would share it with you all in case you wanted to listen to a peek of. You can check it out at Amazon.com. Here are the songs on the CD: 1. Amazing Grace 2. Israel 3. Crown Him With Many Crowns 4. Joyful 5. Ave Maria 6. Jesu 7. How Great Thou Art 8. Heaven 9. Seventh Day 10. Be Thou Near To Me 11. O Sacred Head Now Wounded 12. Holy Holy Holy 13. Hear Me (Tears Into Wine)

Rainy Days in Winter???

While we were watching the superbowl the other day, Ashlyn thought it would be fun to dress up for the rain they were having in Miami. Joshua and John were at a party so the pictures only included Ashlyn and Caleb. Ashlyn has become quite the photographer and they sure looked cute!! I took the second two.

House Mice LOVE warm houses!

So last week I told John that I heard some squeaky noises under our big freezer in the garage and he didn't seem to worried. "It's probably just a little mouse and won't bother us if you don't bother it." So we never bought traps or anything helpful to kill the little creature. We think it got in our garage because one of our garage doors is broken and does not go all the way to the ground with the opener. So we have to push it down when John leaves for work. So yesterday I was on the computer downstairs and Ashlyn starts screaming, "Mom, there's a mouse in the living room that looks like Ralph, hurry!" (She is reading the Mouse and the Motorcycle at school) I ran upstairs to find all three kids standing on the couch screaming like crazy. Sure enough, a little black mouse was quickly, and I mean really quickly, running all over our living room rug. I tried to get it under a box and it ran under the couch. I called John who had no real adv

We are Hooked!

Well, after only the first 4 episodes of season one, we LOVE the TV series 24. Our friends Nate and Lisa started watching season one and gave us a copy to start. After only one night, we want to watch them all. We are going to watch them all in order so it could be a while before we start watching it on TV instead of DVD. I am not sure if you guys watch this or not, but we are so excited to start! Please share if you are hooked too and don't give any hints to what is going on. We love that the show is actual time and that each season will be 24 actual hours. It makes it very intense!

What it's like having boys.....

My adorable Niece Abby!

My sister Adrienne and niece Abby is coming in three weeks to visit while John goes to Las Vegas for his annual Maids Convention. We are excited to see them both since it has been awhile since we saw them. Here are two pictures of her, the first one is when she was here last and only a baby and the second is recent in Denver. My sister started a new blog this past week to help me stay updated on pictures and stories if you want to check it out. It is listed under my favorite Blogs -> Adrienne's Blog! Enjoy!!
