A Good Year... A Bad Movie

Pretty slow and hard to believe Russell Crow was in it. Not the worst movie I've seen, but definately wouldn't recommend paying for it...maybe watch it when it is on TV sometime for free. Thought it would be similar to a Walk in the Clouds (which I enjoyed), but it is not much like it at all. If you've seen it and disagree, please let me know why you liked it :)

The Labor Story

So after that surprising ultrasound visit on Monday that showed the baby was between 9 and 10 pounds, my favorite female dr agreed to give me a "boost" at the visit. We were so excited leaving the office in a little more pain! That night (Monday night) the contractions got much stronger and a little more often. We drove the kids to grandma's house around 1 in the morning and decided to stay there and time them longer. We fell asleep! The next morning when I got up (my birthday - Tuesday morning), I had severe backpain and lost what appeared to be the rest of my mucas plug (sorry for that horrible picture!). We timed them again because they were much more painful, but still about 7 minutes apart. I called my dr to tell them I was having some "bloody show" and to see if I should come to the office or the hospital they told me to go to the hospital. We called my best friend Lisa and all went to the hospital about 1:30 pm. When they check me then, I had

Nine to Ten Pounds...already!!

So we had our 38 week ultrasound today and found out that "little" Jonathan weighs between 9 and 10 pounds today! A little hard to believe at first because the Dr . said they thought extra fluid was making my stomach huge -- not the case after all . The fluid is in normal range and the baby's stomach was too big to fit on the ultrasound monitor! Because she had a hard time with that measurement, she got 8 lb, 12 ounces for the smallest measurement and 10 lbs, 2 ozs , for the biggest. We go to the OB today at 3:30 to see what this all means. My induction date is in 9 days so the baby can still gain about 7 ounces before then, if not more. We are hoping the Dr . today will give me a "boost" (preferably scrape my membranes) and the baby will come tonight or tomorrow (my b-day ). We'll keep you posted after the visit today if they do not send me over to the hospital directly today. The baby also had huge cheeks which we think is adorable and we got a g

The 24 Final Countdown....

Season 6 of 24 will come to an end on May 21st!! The next season will not begin until Jan. It's hard to believe, but we are almost caught up with the TV show now - we rented the first 4 seasons from the Library or borrowed them from Lisa. Then we did the 2-week trial version of Blockbuster Total Access to watch the 5 th season and beginning of the 6 th season. We are half way done with season 6, thanks to an Internet sight that allows you to watch missed episodes. We can't wait until Jan already and are really excited to see how this season ends!! Try it out if you still haven't - it's so awesome and addicting!!

We missed 5-6-7!

So after another visit to labor and delivery last night, I am 80% effaced and now definitely a 3. The bad news is that I did not progress to a 4 in the 3 hours we were there. So they said, I am in early labor and asked if we wanted to go home. We said, of course, since we try to do most of the labor at home. The hard thing is knowing when I am actually dilating. So we are home and just watching contractions now. The worst part about not having him today --- he could have had a cool birthday, 5-6-7! Maybe we can try for mine or mother's day now! We'll keep you posted...

24 Days and Counting...

As many friends are finding out another pregnancy adventure is beginning for them, I am excited to report ours is ending! I have officially been in "labor" for about 2 days. Beginning with stronger contractions and an enormous amount of pelvic pressure, I was sent to labor and delivery on Tues. There I found out my cervix has dilated quite a bit and have really thinned out. Because my office is so conservative , they are wanting us to wait until Sunday (37 weeks) to try any of our own "techniques" to progress labor. They also would not let me walk the hospital or get meds to harden the contractions until Sunday. So after one full day of bedrest and another doctor's opinion, I am able to let the labor happen on its own now. I am still unable to try our "tactics" until Sunday. Caleb was 20 days early and our goal this time is to at least wait until this baby is 19 days early and not before. SO for now, it is horrible pretty regular contracti
