Ashlyn the Artist
Ashlyn's school participated in a Art Contest last week for music class. I know you're wondering why they would draw in music, but it actually was pretty cool. They all had to listen to a classical song and then draw their interpretation of what they heard. For participating, each student received 4 free tickets to the Liberty Symphony for this Saturday. Since Joshua participated too, we got 8 free tickets. We weren't planning on going because John and I will be in Hawaii and I thought it might be to much for Sue to take the kids.
That was until we heard Ashlyn's drawing was one of the selected winners! Her artwork will be displayed in the lobby and will be in a slideshow that will play during the orchestra's concert of that song. She was one of 5 FCA students who won. There were about 20 schools who entered. She is very excited and I am so proud of her. We haven't seen her piece yet, but Grandma Sue promises to take pictures while she is there...what a brave person taking my 3 little boys to a symphony :) That makes for a busy day for them all - first the airport early in the morning, Ashlyn's basketball game, and then the Symphony.
I'll post pictures when we get back. Way to go Ashlyn!!!
