Bracing for some alone time

John is going to be going out of town in a week for his annual Maids meeting in AZ and I won't be joining him this time - Oh the joys of having 4 little ones to hand over to someone else for almost a week. I think they should do another cruise like in 2006, that's totally worth the separation anxiety for me. We are excited to see if they get any awards and any more information about buying the St. Louis franchise. Anyway, in his absence Caleb will turn 3, we will have to drive to and from school, tackle church alone, and the everyday stuff the 5 of us normally do for 4 days! We are trying to plan ahead a little this week and trying to think of something fun to do to pass the time...besides some redbox movies and homework. Any suggestions?

Oh yeah, a funny Maids story - they cleaned the wrong house for the first time this week! Can you imagine walking into your house and having a really clean house and have no idea why? It was a small duplex mix-up, and went down as a first for them...the people who were supposed to be cleaned got cleaned the next day :)

Maybe if the weather is nice you can go to the park and have a picnic or go and Visit Lisa and Nate.

I can totally relate to being alone with kids for days on end! (even four days can seem like forever!) Although I only had two kids, and then the three of them for just a bit on Frank's last patrol. Summer is easier because we just spend a lot of time at the park. Winters are tough! Does your mall have a play area? What about playdates with friends? That way mommy has an adult to talk to while the kids play. For me, that was what was hard - not having an adult around to talk to. Just pray the weather is good, the kids can stay busy easily when they are outside.

Man, I wish someone would come clean my house by mistake. What a pleasant surprise!!

The owner of a duplex gave them master keys and somehow the wrong address (the other half of the duplex). The side they were supposed to clean was empty because it was a move out and the owner was paying. The other renter was the one who was surprised and he was left with a big bag of keys on the counter like the owner requested to do! She has had them clean before at other duplexes and is a regular customer for her house and thought it was pretty funny.

Thanks for the ideas so far - I am hoping the weather is good because we are outside people usually :) I think we are going to some friends house to play, but it might be before he leaves.
