Yesterday was my 32 nd birthday along with Jonathan's 3rd. The nice thing about sharing our birthdays is that the focus really goes to him all day. As I continue to reach 40 and then 50, this will be such a perk for me. This year, it seemed I got few more presents than I normally do - I am not sure why, but it was a lot of fun. I also had already gotten my awesome new cedar trunk and a few different cards in the mail with money in them, which were all great surprises! The day began with breakfast in bed. Then John let me go garage sale-n for a while to look for some presents/things I have been looking for...we all went to Red Robin for some lunch (and 2 free meals for Jonathan and I). Then my friend Lisa and I got ready together for an 80s party we planned for my friend Lori who turned 30 this week. We went to a dinner/movie theatre and coffee house in our 80s attire. The kids finished up school Friday and we rewarded them with some presents for all their hard work. Here they are showing off their new gifts...

This past weekend, I was able to finally start working on the front yard landscaping...I wish I had some before pics to show you so you can see the difference. We had cut down some vine and about 10 small trees from the beds when we first moved in...we put mulch down instead of the weeded rock that was there before, and planted some new plants and hostas. A while back I shared about Ashlyn winning a local art contest. This past week, FCA had an Art and Music Evening where her winning art work was displayed. Here it is - the one with the yellow road and stained glassed church in the middle... Both kids entered 3 new pieces of art into the Art evening. Joshua was excited that everyone who participated was awarded a ribbon. Here he is by one of his masterpieces. His pencil work of C3PO near the bottom....you might have to click on the picture to see it better.

Here I am with 2 of my mother's....the other is in Seattle. We had a great dinner together and some playtime at the park. We hope you all had a great Mother's Day too!
